Dan Cristea pare a opta pentru expresia critica pliata stilistic pe opera. O minima distanta (idealul fiind “identificarea”) nu-i ingaduie a plana asupra literaturii cercetate, pe care o imbratiseaza sufocant. Nu judecata de valoare e, prin urmare, aspectul caracterizant al acestui exercitiu, ci efortul reconstituirii creatiei pe planul limbajului critic, operatie care permite un dialog intre vocatii. Dan Cristea seems to opt for a critical expression that will stylistically suit the literary work. A minimal distance (“identification” being the ideal) does not allow him to hover above the literature under scrutiny, which he squeezes to his bosom. Therefore, it is not the axiological judgment that characterizes his exercise, but the effort to reconstruct the act of creation in the language of criticism, an operation that allows a dialogue between vocations. The exegete attempts to communicate with the poet within the perimeter of an idiom which is, up to a point, common to both. (Gheorghe Grigurcu)
