Intr-o epoca literara tentata de satisfactii imediate si de emotii efemere,
sfortarea tipica la Eugen Simion de a se inscrie intr-o durata ampla
si de a imagina (lucrand in favoarea sa) un timp al stabilitatii,
constituie un autentic act de cultura, un act de civilizatie deopotriva, menite
sa insufle un sentiment tonic, securizant. Exista in opera lui critica
un proiect fundamental, deplin materializat, al densificarii spatiului, al umplerii
golurilor. (Lucian Raicu)
In a literary age tempted by instant gratification and evanescent emotions,
the typical effort made by Eugen Simion to be part of a vast duration and to
imagine (working in his favor) a time of stability is a true act of culture
and civilization, meant to create inspiration and certainty. In his critical
work there is a fundamental project which is fully materialized, of making the
space solid, of fillling up the voids. (Lucian Raicu)
