Schitele lui Hanibal Stanciulescu lasa adesea impresia unor scurte scenarii cinematografice, scrise eliptic si sugestiv, intr-o miscare rapida a caracterizarii si in “decupaje” bine delimitate. Proza pretinde in primul rand un exercitiu al rabdarii, si tocmai rabdarea ii lipseste autorului; el are in schimb talent din abundenta, imaginatie, simt de observatie si o capacitate de a transcrie rapid si sugestiv o imagine. Hanibal Stanciulescu's sketches often leave the impression of short movie scripts, written elliptically and suggestively, with swift characterizations and well-delineated “scenarios”. Prose requires an exercise of patience, and patience is precisely what the author lacks; in return, he has plenty of talent, imagination, power of observation and the capacity to transcribe an image rapidly and suggestively.
