Scrisul lui Nicolae Balota se bizuie pe un vast aparat asociativ. Imbibat de umanitati, autorul traieste in mediul acestora satisfactia unei profuziuni de relatii care echivaleaza cu o experienta emotionala, nesatioasa tentativa de a inchide lumea intr-o forma labirintica. Sub exceptionala propensiune laborioasa, se intrezareste atractia exercitata de o serie insemnata de “etosul muncii”: Hasdeu, Iorga, Parvan, Bogdan-Duica, G. Calinescu. (Gheorghe Grigurcu)


The writing of Nicolae Balota is based on a vast associative apparatus. Soaked in humanity, the author experiences in its midst the satisfaction of deep relations, which are the equivalent of an emotional experience, the thirsty tentative of locking the world within a labyrinthic form. Under this exceptional laborious propensity, one can surmise the attraction exercised by an important group marked by the “work ethos”: Hasdeu, Iorga, Parvan, Bogdan-Duica, G. Calinescu.
