1-30 q1v11vu 7,133,442 siete milliones ciento treinta y tres mil cuatrocientos cuarenta
y dos 2. Cardinal numbers are invariable. The exceptions are uno and multiple of cientos (trescientos, cuatrocientos, etc). They agree in gender with the noun they modify. EXAMPLES Este libro tiene doscientas paginas./ This book has two hundred pages. Compraremos trescientas tarjetas./ We'll buy three hundred cards. 3. Cien is equivalent to one hundred only, including in 100,000 (cien mil). All numbers greater than one hundred (100) is ciento(s). EXAMPLES 100 = cien 110 = ciento diez 200 = doscientos 300.000 = trescientos mil 100.000 = cien mil 100.700 = cien mil setecientos 102.500 = ciento dos mil quinientos 4. Cien and mil do NOT require any articles, unlike English. Deposito cien dólares./ I deposit one hundred dollars. Pagué mil pesos./I paid a thousand pesos. 5. Unlike English, numbers above 900 are NEVER counted as hundred. 6. Millón is a noun; therefore, the preposition de is required whenever
millón is used with another noun. 7. In Spanish, otro/other goes before the number; however, in English other
goes after the number. |
